The VP9A1 X is the extended configuration of the VP9A1 generation — a longer slide and barrel than the full-size VP9A1 F.
The practical effect of the extra length is a longer sight radius and a slightly softer shooting impulse. That makes the X easier to shoot precisely at distance, at the cost of being harder to conceal and slower out of a holster.
Who it suits: range and sporting use, or duty carry where concealment is not a requirement. If you want the same platform in a carry size, the VP9A1 K is the compact.
Worth knowing: the added slide length affects holster fitment. Confirm a rig is cut for the X rather than the standard full-size before ordering. A threaded-barrel version is also available as the VP9A1 X Tactical.
