The 16-inch upper receiver kit for the MR762 A4 in 7.62×51.

What an upper receiver kit is: the complete upper half of the rifle — barrel, gas system, bolt carrier group and handguard — without a lower receiver. It lets you change calibre or barrel length on an existing lower rather than buying a second complete rifle.

Fits: MR762 A4 lower receivers only. The 7.62 uppers are caliber-specific and will not pair with an MR556 lower.

Worth knowing: at 16in this is rifle-length, so it avoids the short-barrel question entirely — the simpler of the two MR762 kits. The shorter option is the 13in kit.
