The G36 .22 LR brings the G36 profile into rimfire, completing HK’s three rimfire patterns alongside the MP5 and HK416.

The distinction that matters: despite the styling, this is a rimfire rifle, not a scaled-down centrefire one. Magazines, parts and internals do not cross over to the centrefire platform it resembles. Treat it as its own thing when buying anything for it.

Who it suits: shooters who want the G36 profile without the cost or restrictions attached to the centrefire rifle, and anyone building rimfire training time cheaply.
